Custom-Fitted Solutions for Tooth Replacement
At our practice, we understand the importance of a confident, healthy smile for all patients, including those wearing dentures. We offer personalized denture services tailored to each individual's needs and comfort. Our goal is to provide unique dentures that not only feel comfortable but also look natural.
What are Dentures?
Dentures are removable replacement teeth that look natural. There are two types of dentures: full and partial.
- Full Dentures: These are provided to patients after all natural teeth have been removed. Conventional full dentures are placed once the gum tissue has healed, a process that typically takes several months. Immediate full dentures, on the other hand, are placed immediately after tooth removal and may require frequent adjustments during the initial months of use.
- Partial Dentures: These consist of artificial teeth attached to either an acrylic (gum-colored) base or a metal frame that fits between your natural teeth. They are used to fill in gaps left by missing permanent teeth and serve as a removable alternative to bridges.

Caring for your Dentures
It is important to clean your dentures daily to prevent bacteria growth and maintain a healthy smile, just like you would with natural teeth.
- Handle your dentures over a clean, folded towel or a sink filled with water to prevent breakage if they accidentally drop.
- Brush your dentures daily to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Use a soft-bristled brush and gentle motions to avoid damaging the plastic. Rinse your dentures after meals.
- Use a mild cleanser specifically designed for dentures. Avoid using toothpaste, household cleaners, or mouthwashes that may be too harsh. Look for products with the American Dental Association (ADA) seal of approval or consult your dentist for recommendations.
- Keep your dentures moist when not wearing them. Store them in a denture cleaning solution or water to prevent drying out, which can cause them to lose their shape or crack.
- Even with full dentures, maintain oral hygiene by gently brushing your gums and tongue with a soft-bristled brush daily.
If your dentures happen to break, please reach out to our practice to schedule an appointment promptly. Ill-fitting broken dentures can lead to gum and mouth irritation. Additionally, remember to maintain regular dental checkups every six months to ensure your smile remains healthy for years to come.
